Empowering Kids with Epilepsy
Epicentred provides specialised mental health support and advocacy programs to empower children with epilepsy.

Meet Justine
“
Hello, I’m Justine Knott. For over 25 years, I’ve worked as both a psychologist and a teacher, helping families navigate the emotional world of childhood and learning.
Epicentred is personal to me: I also live with epilepsy. I understand the uncertainty and daily challenges that come with this condition, and I have seen firsthand how it impacts the young people I work with.
I know that children need more than just medical care; they need a supportive community and collaborative care to support their mental health.
I founded Epicentred to combine my professional expertise with my own lived experience. My mission is to provide compassionate, specialised mental health support for children and young people with epilepsy.
”
Epilepsy & mental health
Epilepsy impacts far more than just physical health. It influences how kids make friends, how they feel at school, and how they see themselves. Mental health impacts can emerge due to seizures, medications, social isolation, trauma and the impact of having a chronic illness.
